No fewer than 1,200 vulnerable women in Jigawa State have received 25 kg bags of rice as support from the First Lady of Nigeria, Mrs. Remi Ahmad Bola Tinubu.
Represented by the wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, at the distribution ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Dutse, the First Lady pledged her continued efforts to support women and children as part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Mrs. Tinubu emphasized that the donation is part of her commitment to empowering women and reducing poverty among the most vulnerable populations in the country. She reiterated her dedication to championing the implementation of policies and programs aimed at improving the socio-economic lives of Nigerian women.
“Empowering and assisting women is akin to empowering entire families,” she stated, urging the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the palliatives for the benefit of themselves and their families.
“We hope this palliative will provide some relief to the beneficiaries’ families during this challenging period of social and economic hardship,” she added.
In her remarks, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hadiza Abdulwahab, noted that the beneficiaries were selected in collaboration with stakeholders from across the 27 local government areas of the state.
