By Mustapha Salisu

Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has emphasized the importance of respecting the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) across the state, stressing that the association is not a political party.

Comrade Gwarzo made this statement on Thursday while receiving the executive members of the Kano State Chapter of Miyetti Allah, led by its Chairman, Rtd. Captain Abdullahi Adamu Bakoji, during a courtesy visit to the State Government House.

He further stated that regardless of their Fulani subgroups, all members must respect their respective Local Government Chairmen to ensure the prosperity of the association.

The Deputy Governor advised the group to adopt strategies that uphold their dignity and resolve internal disputes amicably for the benefit of their members and the larger Fulani community.

He assured that the Kano State Government is willing to collaborate with all Fulani groups that are free from leadership conflicts, aiming to address the needs of the Fulani population in the state.

Gwarzo also lamented the negative perception of the Fulani community in Nigeria, stating that despite their historical contributions to the spread of Islam, civilization, and sustainable development, they have been unfairly portrayed as terrorists due to misleading narratives.

He urged the new chairman of Kano Miyetti Allah to recognize the significant responsibility placed upon him and to work diligently to meet the expectations of his members with sincerity and dedication.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Chairman of the Kano State Chapter of Miyetti Allah, Rtd. Captain Abdullahi Adamu Bakoji stated that the purpose of their visit was to seek the state government’s intervention in resolving the leadership crisis within the association.
