Salanta homeowners replies to Kano Governor on alleged Gwaggo’s land ownership

The owners of the Salanta’ House in-waiting for demolitions faulted the accuracy of Governor Abba’s claims that 90% of the allocated lands in the ill-fated area were illegally acquired by the Kano ex first lady Hafsat Ganduje [ Gwaggo] and her children.

The spokesman of the Salanta neighborhood homeowners, Mallam Ayuba Sani made the disclosure, on Monday during a press briefing to responds to the Governor Abbas assertion, pinpointed the huge Land ownership to the Ganduje’s wife and her offsprings.

He added that, it’s advisably for the Governor Abba, being the apex person divinely blessed upon the executive position should corroborate every story to avoid being spoon fed with false narratives on this current land ownership imbroglio in Kano.

” If the governor’s assertion is on course of saying that 90% the Salanta lands ownership goes to Gwaggo, what is the status for the remaining 30% of the lands ownership, He asked.

Mallam Ayuba Sani said, all the lands and house owners in Salanta area were bona fide, Kano indigenous people, legally bought the lands from the allottees, got approval, validation under the genuine paperwork’s from the appropriate state government agency – KNUPDA.

“It’s noteworthy to emphasized that, during the immediate Ganduje’s era before this layout was designed, the area was compensated with another vast area of land at Gwamai in Bichi local government to eased the students hardships, commuting from afar in thier drive for seeking knowledge” He said.

Ayuba confirmed that this were the reasons kept us rest assured to bought the lands and built the Houses.

But, according to him, “Just in broad day light, our houses and structures were red- marked with demolition short notice.

Adding that on Thursday night of 16th June, 2023, the deluge of task force committee swarmed the area with the intent to flattened our Houses built with hard earned fortune.

” We resisted, which led to maltreatment and inflicted assault and battery to some occupants of the area. This is not done anywhere, He cried.

At last, Ayuba Sani said that they were delighted for having the news that Kano state would publicly announced the names of the real lands allottees in Salanta, which were said that 90% belongs to Gwaggo, saying that gesture will help towards unveiling their due process for acquiring the lands under the statutory and legitimate state government laid down procedures.
