In its continued efforts to enhance synergy and foster effective community-based security, the Kano State Security Neighborhood WatchCorps, Sector 5 Command, Rano, under the leadership of the Sector Commander, Capt. MK Ibrahim RTD, has paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Dr. Alhaji Muhammad Isah Umaru.
Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim Anipr, Director Public Enlightenment, KSNWC disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday.
According to Yusuf, the visit forms part of the Corps’ strategic engagement with traditional institutions, recognizing their critical role in maintaining peace, security and social cohesion at the grassroots level.
Speaking during the visit, Capt. MK Ibrahim RTD emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between the Neighborhood Watch Corps and traditional leaders.
He noted that effective security management requires community trust, local intelligence and the active involvement of respected traditional authorities.
The Sector Commander further highlighted the commitment of the Corps to work closely with the Emirate Council in addressing emerging security challenges, enhancing information sharing and promoting peaceful coexistence among residents.
In his response, the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Dr. Alhaji Muhammad Isah Umaru, commended the leadership and personnel of the Neighborhood Watch Corps for their dedication and proactive approach to safeguarding communities.
He reaffirmed the Emirate’s readiness to support the Corps in its mandate and encouraged sustained engagement with local stakeholders.
The visit underscores the Kano State Security Neighborhood Watch Corps’ resolve to build strong institutional partnerships that will contribute to a safer and more secure society.
