The Senate has confirmed three ministerial nominees, including Balarabe Lawal (Kaduna State) who collapsed during his hearing on Wednesday.
Other nominees confirmed are Jamila Ibrahim (Kwara State) and Ayodele Olawande (Ondo State).
Lawal collapsed after concluding his introduction, causing several people present to rush to his aid. Though he was unable to take questions due to the incident, his nomination was also confirmed.
He was, however, revived moments later.
The confirmation of the three nominees brings the total number of ministers in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet to 48.
The Senate had earlier in August approved 45 ministerial nominees, but rejected three, including Nasir El-Rufai, Stella Okotete, and Abubakar Sani Danladi.
President Tinubu subsequently sent the names of three additional nominees to the Senate for approval, and the three were confirmed on Wednesday.
