Service Delivery: Governor Buni Calls for Teamwork Among Government Officials

From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has urged senior government officials to promote teamwork and utilize their expertise to drive the state’s development.

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed senior officials, including Board Chairmen, Permanent Members, and Permanent Secretaries at the Government House, Damaturu, the governor emphasized that the appointments were based on merit, diligence, and loyalty, in line with his administration’s commitment to good governance.

Buni tasked the officials with ensuring efficient service delivery, fulfilling the administration’s campaign promises, and improving the lives of citizens.

He warned against actions that could destabilize the government or divert attention from its objectives, stating that any political engagement by public officers or civil servants would be treated as a threat to the administration.

The governor reminded the appointees of the heavy moral and ethical burden associated with their oaths of office, urging them to serve with integrity, accountability, and in the best interest of the state.

Among those sworn in were Permanent Secretaries for the Ministries of Water Resources, Higher Education, the Service Welfare Office, and other key positions, alongside members of the Fiscal Responsibility Board, the State Universal Basic Education Board, and the State Assembly Service Commission.

Governor Buni concluded by charging the appointees to justify the trust placed in them through dedicated service and unwavering commitment to Yobe State’s development.
