Speaker Abbas mourns Alhaji Muhammad Jibo

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, has mourned the death of an elder statesman in Kaduna State, Alhaji Muhammad Jibo, MFR.

The late Alhaji Jibo, who was the patriarch of Tudun Wada community in Zaria and a former commissioner at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), passed away on Wednesday aged 96.

In a condolence message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker recalled the fatherly role that the late Alhaji Muhammad Jibo played not just in Tudun Wada but also in the entire Zaria Local Government and Kaduna State during his lifetime.

“I was sad to receive the news of the death of a father, a community leader, and a symbol of peace and unity, Alhaji Muhammad Jibo, MFR. During his lifetime, he galvanized the people towards the realization of societal goals and objectives.

“Not only was he peace-loving, he also demonstrated deep compassion for the people in his immediate community and beyond. His accomplishments showcase his dedication to community service, education, healthcare, and philanthropy. He leaves behind an enduring legacy, which will benefit humanity in years to come,” the Speaker said.

Speaker Abbas sent heartfelt condolences to the Tudun Wada community, the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, and the entire Zazzau Emirate as well as Kaduna State as a whole, over the loss.

He prayed to Allah (SWT) to have mercy on the soul of late Alhaji Muhammad Jibo, MFR, and make Jannatul Firdaus his final abode.

Until his death, the late Alhaji Muhammad Jibo, CFR, was the chairman, Tudun-Wada Elders Forum, Zaria; chairman, Board of Trustees, Bethory Home (school for mentally and physically challenged children), Tukur-Tukur, Zaria for over 35 years, as well as chairman, Orphanage Home, Tukur-Tukur, Zaria for over three decades.

The late Alhaji Jibo equally served as the chairman, Board of Trustees, Muslim Specialists Hospital, Danmagaji, Zaria, and worked at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria and Nigeria Railway Corporation. He spearheaded the fundraising and supervision for the building of the Great ITN Mosque and Islamic Center, Zaria, among others.
