Stakeholders Advocate Peace, Youth Empowerment in Billiri

Youth O’clock Nigeria, in collaboration with the Maisheru and Munsal Foundations, hosted a peace and development forum at the College of Education, Billiri.
The event, themed “Building a Peaceful and Prosperous Billiri,” focused on addressing drug abuse, youth restiveness, and farmer-herder conflicts.
The gathering featured notable speakers, including Malam Ibrahim Kanku of the Gombe State Ministry of Internal Security; Hajiya Zariyatu Abubakar Hashidu of Wildan Care Foundation; and Professor Sani Ahmad Yauta, Vice Chancellor of Gombe State University.
They emphasized self-reliance, job creation, and agriculture as solutions to youth challenges.
The Miyetti Allah group pledged peaceful coexistence during the farming season, while NDLEA presentations highlighted the dangers of drug abuse.
Representing the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home affairs the Permanent Secretary assured support for peace initiatives.
Comrade Abdulaziz Sani Labaran, State Coordinator of Youth O’clock Nigeria, urged parents and youth to unite for community growth.
The forum concluded with a call for collective action to ensure peace and prosperity in Billiri and beyond.
