TETFUND Paid on the spot assessment tour at the centre of excellence at F.C.E Yola

Officials of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund(TETFUND) have paid an on the spot performance assessment tour to Federal College of Education Yola in Adamawa state.

Leader of the team, Professor Olatunde Falomi said that the officials were at the college to assess the performance of the centre of excellence in the institution with a view to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.

Professor Falomi stated that,aside the Center of excellence, the team will also go round the college to monitor various tetfund intervention cited in the college, that is to see how best the centre impacted the college and the community around the college and to identify areas of that need further improvement in future interventions

“Our visit was to assess the performance of the Centre of excellence in the college, which was built through the intervention of the TETfund”. Falomi maintained.

Earlier in his remarks, the chairman, Governing council of the college, Engineer Sheed Johnson, thanked the team for the visit assuring that, the college is ever ready to provide any necessary information needed to guide them in carrying out their assignment successfully.

Corroborating the council chairman, the college Provost, Dr. Mohammed Usman Degereji, also appreciated the visitors for the visit pledging total cooperation for the success of their task throughout their stay in the college.

Our Correspondent reported that the team including Professor Falomi and three (3) others were warmly received by the chairman Governing council of the college, Engineer Saheed Johnson, the provost and other top management staff at the provost office.

In a related development, the Adamawa state government has forwarded a request for more employment opportunities for indigenes in to Federal institutions dueled in the state.

Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta made the request while receiving in audience, the Governing Council of the federal college of education Yola Friday advocated for equal representation of all the 21 local government and more employment slots for indigenes.

Professor Farauta said that, the Gov. Fintiri’s administration has prioritize education, reiterating commitment to continue to give education sector all the needed attention, for the overall development of the state and nation at large.

She assured the Governing Council of government’s readiness support to FCE Yola and all the federal institutions in Adamawa state.

Earlier, the chairman Governing council, Federal College of Education, Yola, Engineer Saheed Johnson, said they were at the government house to register their appreciation for government’s enormous support to the college.

He appealed for more support and partnership with Adamawa state Government for effective service delivery.
