Tinubu Maliya Shonikan Organisation (TMS) has petitioned the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State over alleged intimidation and victimisation of its members and political appointees in Kabo Local Government following their participation in a pro-Tinubu mobilisation.
In the petition signed by the TMS Coordinator, Nura Abdullahi Bagwai, Esq., the organisation alleged that the Kabo Local Government Chairman, Lawan Najume Kabo, removed the Secretary to the Local Government, Abba Salisu Mewake Garo, and other political appointees over their participation in a TMS event held on August 9, 2026, at Amani Event Centre, Kano.
TMS described the event as a peaceful political mobilisation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that it was attended by senior party officials and government representatives.
The organisation also expressed concern over alleged attempts to intimidate other participants, citing the Vice Chairman of Kabo Local Government, Kabiru Durun, and the APC Chairman in Kabo Local Government, Hashimu Sarki, who reportedly issued media statements distancing themselves from TMS after attending the event.
TMS urged the APC leadership to investigate the allegations and determine whether the reported actions were consistent with the party’s constitution and principles of internal democracy.
It also called on the party to protect its members from victimisation for participating in what it described as lawful political mobilisation in support of the APC and President Tinubu.
The petition was copied to the APC National Chairman and the National Vice Chairman, North-West.
The organisation appealed for urgent intervention, warning that strengthening internal democracy, unity and inclusiveness would be critical to the party’s electoral prospects.
TMS said members should be free to participate in lawful political activities without fear of intimidation or reprisals.
