The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Hon. Delu Bulus Yakubu, has expanded her rural empowerment drive to Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State with the donation of solar-powered streetlights to communities without electricity.
Hon. Delu, who was warmly received by the Emir of Guyuk, said the initiative was designed to enhance security, boost economic activities, and improve the living standards of residents in underserved areas.
She noted that access to basic amenities such as lighting remains crucial in achieving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to her, the project aims to provide safer and more vibrant communities where people can engage in productive ventures even after dark.
“We are committed to ensuring that no community is left behind in our effort to bring light, hope, and opportunity to Nigerians,” she stated.
With the inclusion of Guyuk, six local government areas in Adamawa have now benefited from her intervention projects. The others are Hong, Gombi, Song, Yola North, and Demsa.
Hon. Delu pledged to extend similar projects to more local governments across the state, emphasizing that the focus of her office remains on poverty reduction, women empowerment, and community development.
She expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his visionary leadership, as well as to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, and the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) for supporting initiatives that promote growth and resilience in the region.
Traditional and community leaders in Guyuk commended Hon. Delu’s gesture, describing her as a true ambassador of the Renewed Hope vision and a leader dedicated to improving the lives of the people of Adamawa State.
Her latest intervention, they said, reflects a growing commitment by the federal government to strengthen grassroots development and ensure that humanitarian programs reach every part of the country.
