Tribunal Upholds Okpebholo’s Election as Edo Governor
The Edo State Governorship Election Tribunal has upheld the election of Monday Okpebholo as the duly elected governor of the state in the September 21, 2024, poll.
Delivering judgment on Wednesday, the three-member tribunal, led by Justice Wilfred Kpochi, ruled that the petitioners—the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo—failed to substantiate their allegations against the respondents.
The tribunal stated that “no competent witnesses were called” to support the claims made in the petition, leading to its dismissal.
