Trump, wife mourn death of former US First Lady, Rosalynn
Former United States President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, expressed their condolence on Monday, November 20, over the passing of former US First Lady, Rosalynn Carter.
Rosalynn Carter, aged 96, who passed away on Sunday, November 19, following a brief illness at her residence in Plains, Georgia, was married to the 39th president of America, Jimmy Carter.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, November 20, Trump described Rosalynn as a dedicated First Lady, a humanitarian, an advocate for mental health, and a cherished wife who stood by her husband for 77 years.
His statement reads: “Over a life spanning nearly a century, Rosalynn Carter earned the admiration and gratitude of our entire nation.
“From her days as a U.S. Navy spouse, to the Georgia Governor’s mansion to her tenure as First Lady of the United States, her later work at the Carter Center and volunteering with habitat for humanity.
“She leaves behind a legacy of extraordinary accomplishment and national service.
“Our prayers are with the former President, the Carter family, and the entire community of Plains Georgia that she loves so much!”.
