UNICEF Scores Yobe Government High

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has commended the efforts being placed by the Yobe State Government toward improving the standard of Education in the state.
The commendation came during the recently launched Annual Enrollment Campaign Drive in Nguru the Head Quarters of Nguru Local Government, Yobe State.
Speaking at the occasion, the representative of UNICEF, Mallam Garba Umar said, “Hence Education is a responsibility of all, let me emphasize here that we are all regarded as stakeholders; so it’s expected that all hands must be on deck in order to promote Education, make it inclusive in term access”.
“The schools provided should be open to all categories of children irrespective of tribe, religion and ethics affiliation”.
He said, “We are aware the Yobe Government has invested heavily in Education”.
“It’s pertinent to call on all supporting partners as well as critical stakeholders in the sector to as a matter of fact assist the Yobe Government to change the narratives.
Speaking earlier, the Education Secretary, of Nguru Local Education Authority, Alhaji Hamisu Ado used the opportunity to call on parents and guardians to see to the enrollment of their wards especially those who do not attend both formal and non-formal schools.
Additionally, the Yobe State Government is doing all it can to improve the Teaching and Learning Environment at both Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels
UNICEF works in the world’s toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children and adolescents.
The intent is to protect the right of every child, everywhere.
