VP Shettima Launches Interventions in Jigawa, Urges Youth to Avoid Protests

From Mika’il Tsoho, Dutse

Vice President Kashim Shettima visited Jigawa State on Tuesday to launch various interventions spearheaded by his office. During his visit, Shettima urged the youth to refrain from protests, stating that such actions are unlikely to bring positive developments and may lead to violence and the destruction of public property.

He emphasized that the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is diligently working to implement policies and programs aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.

The Vice President also commended Governor Malam Umar Namadi for initiating programs and policies that enhance the well-being of Jigawa citizens. Governor Namadi described the Vice President’s visit as auspicious and beneficial for the people of Jigawa State.

“Today, the Vice President has launched MSME Clinics to promote entrepreneurship and the development of small and medium-scale enterprises. He also inaugurated a 20,000-hectare sprinkler-based solar-powered irrigation scheme,” Governor Namadi stated.

Other projects include the commissioning of a 100 KVA solar-energy power supply to provide stable electricity for small-scale enterprises at Dutse Markets, and the launch of a training program for 1,000 youths from Jigawa State on artificial intelligence tagging and blockchain technology for outsourcing initiatives.

“All these programs have the potential to significantly contribute to our nation’s goals of economic diversification, food security, employment generation, and job creation. These efforts support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for inclusive and sustainable socioeconomic growth and development, as well as our State’s Development Objectives of improved socioeconomic well-being for all, encapsulated in our 12-point Agenda,” the governor said.

Governor Namadi added that the Vice President would also witness the launch of the 4th Expanded National MSME Clinics. He highlighted that the development of Micro, Small & Medium Scale Enterprises is central to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to create an environment conducive to inclusive and sustainable economic growth, ultimately lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

“We are delighted that this aligns with our Agenda for Greater Jigawa, where we plan to implement targeted interventions to support and promote entrepreneurship, efficient business incubation, and the development of small businesses,” Governor Namadi concluded.
