We’re ready to participate in Yobe LGs elections – IPAC

The Inter-Party Advisory Councils (IPAC) Yobe State Chapter, has rejected the purported statement of postponed scheduled November 2023 Local Government Election in the state.

In a statement made available to newsmen by SDP State Chairman and IPAC Secretary, Abdullahi Bello, he said it is not an easy game to return to a level already passed by party and others parties in the state.

“This is to inform the government of Yobe State and the general public that the purported statement issued by the suspended chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) doesn’t emanate from the party secretariat in Yobe State.”

According to the statement, At no point did the 17 members’ Councils sit and issue any statement regarding the forthcoming local goverment election that was scheduled for November this year. 

Bello described that, the State Political Party Chairmen of 12 out of the 18 registered political parties are  hereby denounces and disassociated itself from the statement of the Bala Mohammed, we are ready to participate in the forthcoming local government elections slated for 25 November this year. 

However, the function of IPAC among other things is to checkmate the excess of the government and offer constructive opposition when the government is going astray. We shall not allow IPAC to be used by a certain individual to derail democracy by issuing a statement that does not come from IPAC.    

There is no way the rainy season will disenfranchise the electorate from participating in the election because of farming. The elections will hold in less than 12 hour in a day and this exercise will not make the farmers to loose any thing rather than to exercise their rights as a citizen of their various                    

                   

He added that, “I will like to use this opportunity to inform you that, the IPAC secretariat hereby denounces and disassociates itself from the statement of the chairman and supports the local government elections slated for November this year.  

The Political Parties that are not aware of the purported press statement and are well and fully ready to participate in the forthcoming LGAs elections are: APGA, ADP, LP, SDP, AAC, NNPP, AA, YPP, AC, APP, PRP, ZLP

He added that, “We enjoying the public to disregard the communique  issued by the chairman of IPAC concerning the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
