The Yobe State Focal Person on Drug Abuse Control, Sa’idu Hassan Jakusko, has paid a familiarisation visit to the Chairman of the Kano State Multi-Agency Taskforce on Drugs Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, in Kano.
The visit was aimed at establishing professional relations and exploring opportunities for collaboration in addressing drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking.
Jakusko met with Magaji at his office, where the two personalities held discussions on issues relating to drug abuse control and efforts to tackle illicit drug activities.
The engagement highlights the importance of cooperation between states, particularly in sharing experiences, strengthening institutional relationships and coordinating efforts to address drug-related challenges.
However, details of the discussions and any resolutions or agreements reached during the visit have not been made public.
The development comes amid growing calls for stronger institutional collaboration and coordinated interventions to address drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking across Nigeria.
