From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

Yobe State Governor, His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has handed over Certificates of Occupancy for 300 hectares of land to the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) to bolster its operations in the state.

In a statement by Mamman Mohammad, Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Governor Buni presented the certificates to NEPZA’s Executive Director of Trade and Investment, Alhaji Usman Bakori.

The governor urged the agency to use the land effectively to stimulate trade and development in Yobe, noting its strategic location near the cargo airport.

“We look forward to seeing efficient use of the land to drive development. The proximity to the cargo airport is intended to enhance trade activities,” Buni stated, reaffirming the government’s commitment to support NEPZA and other partners.

Governor Buni also emphasized NEPZA’s potential role in promoting exports of Yobe’s agricultural products, including sesame seeds, gum Arabic, and livestock.

In response, Alhaji Bakori expressed gratitude for the land allocation, assuring that development would commence promptly, enabled by the newly issued Certificates of Occupancy.
