Yobe To Host National Quranic Recitation Competition

Yobe State government is to host the 38th National Quranic Recitation Competition in the state which commences tomorrow the 22 of December, 2023.

The Commissioner Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Alhaji Abdullahi Bego disclosed this while briefing journalists at NUJ Secretariat, Damaturu.

According to Bego, about 296 participants drawn from the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory are to feature in Ten (10) Categories of the Competition.

The Commissioner said one of the Objectives of the event is to Promote Quranic Recitation Within Muslim Communities adding that the emerged winners will represent the Country at the international level.

He said Yobe has Eight (8) participants in the competition and with the level of support training facilitated he’s optimistic that they will emerge winners.

Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe State Council, Comrade Rajab Mohammed, Congratulated Yobe State government for hosting the event and assured that journalists in the state will give the event a wider Coverage.
