Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State have endorsed consensus candidates for the House of Representatives and Senate ahead of the 2027 elections, while commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts in promoting peace and unity within the party.
The endorsement was made during a reconciliation meeting aimed at uniting APC supporters across the state.
The meeting, convened at the instance of Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, brought together key political figures, including former governors Senator Sani Ahmed Yarima, Mahmuda Shinkafi and the Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle.
Also in attendance were serving senators, Senator Sahabi Yau Kaura and Senator Ikra Aliyu Bilbis.
Supporters at the gathering praised President Tinubu for facilitating what they described as a peaceful resolution among aspirants through a consensus arrangement.
They also expressed appreciation for the President’s timely intervention and support in helping the Zamfara APC resolve its internal differences amicably.
The stakeholders said the reconciliation effort would strengthen unity within the party and position it for future political success in the state.
Others at the meeting included seven serving members of the House of Representatives, members of the APC state leadership, party stakeholders and officials from Abuja.
