Gov Dauda Lawal Advances Healthcare Development In Shinkafi

In fulfillment of one of the six-point agenda of his administration, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, has continued to demonstrate strong commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the state.
Accordingly, the Governor paid an inspection visit to Shinkafi Local Government Area as part of his ongoing tour to assess key health projects.
This is contained in a statement signed by his Director-General, Media and Communication,Nuhu Salihu Anka.
Anka said that during the visit, the Governor inspected the General Hospital, Shinkafi, which had been 100 percent renovated.
Some sections of the hospital, he said,were completely rebuilt, while the entire facility had been fully equipped with modern hospital equipment to enhance effective service delivery to the people.
The Governor also visited the Shinkafi Referral Hospital, where he inspected the ongoing construction works.
The referral hospital project was originally awarded about 18 years ago but had not progressed beyond 30 percent completion over the years.
“Recognizing its importance to the people of Zamfara North, His Excellency re-awarded the contract as part of his administration’s renewed efforts to revive critical health infrastructure.
“The inspection visit was aimed at ensuring that the project meets the required standards and is executed according to specifications.
“When completed, the referral hospital will significantly reduce the burden on residents who previously had to travel to Gusau for specialized medical care, thereby improving access to quality healthcare for communities in Zamfara North.
‘In another development, Governor Dauda Lawal also inspected the Women and Children Welfare Clinic (WCWC) Hospital in Shinkafi. This visit further underscores his administration’s commitment to strengthening maternal and child healthcare services, in line with global best practices.
“These initiatives reflect the Governor’s determination to transform the health sector and deliver on his campaign promises, ensuring accessible, quality, and affordable healthcare for all citizens of Zamfara State,” the statement added.
