How Elrufai’s political goodwill is being paid under Tinubu’s watch

Why did it take President Bola Ahmed Tinubu so long to intervene in the issue concerning Malam Nasir El-rufai’s non clearance as a result of alleged security issues by the Senate and other relevant security agencies? Why has Mr President remained silent for someone who stood firmly behind his struggle to become president of Nigeria against all odds?

Again, why has Asiwaju left Malam Nasir El-rufai at the most critical time that he needs all cover and shield from Mr President?

The event and circumstances surrounding El-Rufa’i’s delayed confirmation as a Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria has continued to create ripple effect on the political and social landscape across the country as to why such unfolding events happened and Mr President has remained conspicuously silent on the issue even when few months back, Malam El-Rufa’i was vociferously against those that wanted to thwart the chances of Bola Tinubu.

The whole issue so far is now being portrayed like goodwill no longer pays in politics; in fact it is now like a political sin in the light of all that had happened and still happening to the immediate past governor of Kaduna State.

Some even described what transferred behind the scenes as Tinubu’s Machiavellian dance with El-rufai.

It’s certain that, the morality of an action depends upon the motive from which we act. If we deny ourselves for the benefit of the society, we may experience sets back and if we seek to impress and succumb to pressure by so-called mischief markers and gangs against an outstanding icon of our time, then certainly we may have acted from ostentation and pride.

politics is a game in which prizes are distributed and burdens are imposed according to skillful use of pressures, and counter pressures; importunity may prevail over reason, expediance over evidence, and power over justice.

Many politicians practice their craft according to rules and principles formulated by Machiavelli.

Going by this , it’s very common also to hear people asking to make sacrifices for the improvement of nations socioeconomic wellbeing of their people.

Malam Nasir El-rufai has given so much to his people and the country as a whole to be left in the shadow in the name of whatever deliberately cooked security make-up reasons; it’s absurd, annoying to sane mind and an abomination to lovers of good governance.

Many people across the length and breath of Nigeria lauded his leadership style and service to the people and yet all that is no longer considered because of some interest that we are now show is against that of the nation.

They described Malam Nasir El-rufai ‘s loyalty to the people, boldness to tell the truth to power especially former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari at different times as brave and unique attributes that makes El-Rufa’i a must pick if displayed in any leadership show glass across the world.

It’s a known fact that Elrufai is an achiever per excellence and performer with sterling open records to show and a man that delivers on any assigned responsibilities.

He was one of the governors who stood for the unity of this country and sustained the rolling ball for this country to move forward by proposing and standing by his statement that the presidency should go to the South.

Sources revealed that, at one time during the presidential election campaign at the residence of one of the prominent personalities in Kaduna, Northern elites summoned Mal El-Rufa’i and instruct him to vie for the office of president which he vehemently declined and proclaimed his total allegiance to Bola Ahmed Tinubu; all those are now a thing of the past to many who may have short memories or deliberately refused to remember because of their agenda.

By taking such bold decisions as he denied request from his northern brothers for a golden opportunity by favouring the southern part of the country against his people.

Regrettably, he can as well accept the offer by northern elites to vie for the office of the president, but he didn’t do that.

Meanwhile, even his enemies can testify and agree that Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i has shown service to the people. He demonstrated clearly in putting the people first as well as Nigeria.

Those who hold the argument that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a master of politics and a strategist as he has now used the former Governor of Kaduna State Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i to achieve his political goal might be correct afterwards with the current issues on the ground.

It’s evident, that the main crime of Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i who until now has conteniously been facing criticism, hatred, cheap blackmail, hostility as well as mischievous gang up against him by few elements who other than doing the right thing at right time have taken to the path of destroying Elrufai’s reputations.

The most criticized politician of our time for no reason than being bold to take difficult decisions no matter whose ox is gored is Elrufai and history will vindicate him so soonest.

To his enemies, whether they like it or not his character, boldness, commitment, loyalty, selfless service as well as telling truth no matter what speak volumes with concrete proof.

Nature will of course hold APC and Bola Ahmed Tinubu guilty for not responding in time to save a capable hand whose midas transformed the FCT as well as Kaduna State respectively.

APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu again, owe Nigerians full details as to how Elrufai’s immense contributions toward the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president as well as his political party translates rewarding good with evil.

Whatever the circumstances surrounding the mechiavellian treatment for Malam Nasir El-rufai by serving his full purpose at the expense of his contribution to a great deal towards the emergence of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president of Nigeria might not be the best time and the ways to treat him in such manner.

Some analysts alleged that Malam Nasir was in pain for not being considered vice president or chief of staff which doesn’t have any iota of truth considering initial step he has taken by showing total allegiance to Bola Ahmed Tinubu and rejecting those calls for him to aspire for presidency.

All these assertions and cheap allegations are laughable, unbiased and orchestrated plans by his political associates.

And to those who question his track record as regard to his experience in the energy sector or any relevant sector then, they should simply and kindly trace his records or ask especially former President Olusegun Obasanjo who during his tenure and who has once described him as someone who is a rare genius who anything given to him will be a job well done.

As alleged by critics, Mr President will now be compelled to work with those he doesn’t like. As such he might decide to dropped Nasir at his own will.

Well of course, right from the word go, he didn’t ask for any position.

Already he has announced his retirement from politics if not for Mr President that recalled him by begging him to reconsider his stand which he eventually honoured.

The issue here raised by well meaning Nigerians is how come the influence of mischievous elements trying to manipulate decisions and twist remarks and how Mr President is going to handle this delicate issues successfuly by not succumbing to cheap blackmail, lies and hostility against Mal Nasir El-Rufa’i is still one movie Nigerians are waiting for its premiering.

As a popular adage which says what goes around must surely come around.

If those who were the chief architect of the orchestrated plan to humiliate and disgrace Mal Nasir El-Rufa’i in the public eyes must think twice and quickly retrace their steps, then Nigeria will be the ultimate beneficiaries of the good services of this gentleman leader.

The foreseeable future consequences of the present actions strategically being implemented by the cabal around Mr President will eventually get Mr President down in the future as this will be cited as instances or anticidence which will make politicians to withdraw their loyalty as goodwill may not pay them as it hasn’t paid Elrufai.

They might have a second thought , that what happened to Malam Nasir might happen to them and by extension the entire northern region.

Malam Nasir no doubt has contributed so much in supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu despite criticism and name calling.

Therefore, with or without a ministerial position, Nasir will continue to give his best to Nigeria in many ways and he doesn’t lose anything by the present state of things.

Mr President It’s about choice and acknowledgement in the spirit of commitment and loyalty to whom it was due, as well as to draw a thing line between rewarding total allegiance or leaving such goal getter to derailed in the hand of his political associates who went all out to tarnish his image and redicule him.

Malam Nasir El-rufai will certainly be remembered sooner or later for what he stands for and for what he did to you Mr President and Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
