YSCHMA’s Funds Purely Meant For Ensuring Client’s Satisfaction, Service Delivery – Dr Babagana

The Executive Secretary of Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YSCHMA), Dr Babagana Tijjani has emphasized that all funds generated and received by YSCHMA from the federal government, Yobe state government, donor agencies, philanthropists and private individuals are strictly service delivery focused in line with the principles of transparency, accountability, justice and fairness to all.

According to I.O YSCHMA Suleiman Gambo Yusuf (Bakoro) said that, Dr Babagana Tijjani made this known during a two days training organised by the Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency in collaboration with Centre for Health Economics, System Development and Analytics (CHESDA) in Potiskum.

The training he said was for healthcare providers working for YSCHMA accredited and engaged healthcare facilities in Potiskum local government area.

Dr Babagana Tijjani who was represented at the event by the Director of ICT of the agency, Malam Saleh Ibrahim said YSCHMA as an agency of government responsible for implementing the state health financing programme aimed at achieving universal health coverage has been regularly sending funds in form of capitation and fee for service among others to YSCHMA accredited and engaged healthcare facilities providing healthcare services to YSCHMA enrollees across the state in order to have efficient healthcare service delivery for the interest of YSCHMA enrollees.

The Executive Secretary informed participants that they are lucky to be selected for the knowledge sharing training stressing that the purpose of the training is to enable the participants to acquire knowledge on health financing and implementation of YSCHMA contributory health scheme operations and to also share the knowledge with other healthcare workers.

“I urged you to pay rapt attention to the consultant facilitators of this very important two days training as the knowledge you are expected to acquire in this training will greatly help you to improve your capacity so as to enable you to work at optimal level,” Dr Babagana Tijjani added.

The lead consultant facilitator of the training, Shuaibu Ahmed Indabawa said the objectives of the two days training is to enable the participants to be conversant with healthcare financing and its functions, to help  participants understand the dimensions and pathways to achieving universal health coverage, to have in-depth knowledge about health insurance scheme and to be more aware on the implementation of YSCHMA contributory health scheme.

The training which is meant for health care providers, YSCHMA Desk Officers and others supporting the YSCHMA health scheme implementation is focusing on health care financing and the implementation of Yobe State Contributory Health scheme operations for improved service delivery at the health facility level.

The event which took place at the famous Multi-purpose Hall of Potiskum local government secretariat complex in Potiskum town between Tuesday 24th to Wednesday 25th of September 2024 was attended by Directors and Deputy Directors from the agency.

Others are YSCHMA head of Information and Public Relations, health facility managers, YSCHMA Desk Officers and YSCHMA enrollment officers in Potiskum local government area among others.

Highlights of the event was the delivery of different slides presentations by YSCHMA Directors and Deputy Directors on the overview of YSCHMA contributory health scheme implementation, claims management processes, quality assurance, provider payment and feedback mechanisms amongst others. Other highlights of the event is the presentation of certificates of attendance to the participants and souvenirs as well as group photograph.
